Welcome to SideDoor Counseling
Now's the time to discover and claim your truth
Wondering what’s going on and why you’re feeling this way?
Has it become increasingly difficult to make connections or to stay in touch with people you care about? Are you always in conflict and finding it hard to get your point across? Struggling with how you look or always worried about what people think about you? Feeling stuck in unhelpful routines and rituals? Just generally over feeling crappy all the time?
You can take a deep breath out—we’re here to help. At SideDoor Counseling we believe your experiences are real and we can help you work through things like eating disorders, body image issues, life transitions, concerns around identity or gender, self-acceptance, OCD, anxiety, depression, and upsetting events.
“I’ve been able to reconnect with the people I care about again and start doing the things I’ve wanted to do.”
As a Clinical Director of an eating disorder program, I’ve been working with individuals who struggle with eating disorders, trauma, anxiety, OCD, depression, gender, and identity issues, for over 20 years.
My approach is direct and to the point, so you won’t be left wondering what I’m thinking, or why I’m asking certain questions.
I believe being genuine and transparent is critical to a healthy relationship—therapy needs to feel safe and I make it a goal to provide a judgment-free environment where you can have the space to share and get the feedback you need without worrying about being criticized.
I’m clinically trained and well versed in:
I’ve worked as a primary therapist, family and couples’ therapist, Clinical Manager, and Clinical Director of an eating disorder program and served individuals at all levels of care. I have heaps of experience in individual, group, couples, and family therapy.
I’m here to help you find direction and to set goals together, along the way. My passion lies in helping you discover that change is truly possible!
I work with individuals, couples, and families of those who are seeking support in managing anxiety, depression, stress, binge eating, relationship difficulties, life transitions, self-worth, and self-acceptance.
My approach is direct, supportive, and empathic. I’m here to listen, provide honest feedback, and help you explore alternative ways to cope.
I believe in the power of authenticity, finding your voice, accepting human struggle, moving away from labels, practicing vulnerability, and taking action.
I’m clinically trained in and practice:
I’ve been in the field since 2009 and worked on an inpatient crisis stabilization unit, serving individuals with various mental health difficulties, and also worked at eating disorder programs, from inpatient through outpatient levels of care; providing therapy in English, Russian, and Ukrainian.
Through our work together we’ll look into what’s been keeping you from living the life you want and explore how to respond to and overcome those barriers.
“I’ve never had therapy like this before. It’s been a total gamechanger.”
We aim to create an experience of acceptance, authenticity, safety, and discovery so you can begin living your life fully and move toward healing your whole self. We are a trans-inclusive practice and support the LGBTQIA+ community.
